About The Role

Key Responsibilities

Responsibility for the management of the team who respond to children who are at risk of contextual harm in Herefordshire.

Lead a small team of workers in the delivery of a high quality service to achieve improved outcomes for children and young people by ensuring that risk assessments, return home interviews and provision of services are delivered based on professional, evidence based knowledge.

To continue to promote partnership working to safeguard the welfare of children by ensuring that workers understand the expectations of Herefordshire Safeguarding Children Board.

To monitor and manage working practices for the team ensuring that we continue to deliver a high standard of intervention.

Lead and support the development of the workforce both through individual staff development and contributing to training programmes.

Provide professional, reflective supervision and support to others, including consultation to area social work teams.

Working with children, young people and their families to enable them to contribute to the planning and provide feedback on the service required whilst ensuring appropriate evidence-based risk management and decision making is in place.

To ensure a robust approach is taken in regards to keeping accurate records of advice given and decision making.

Maintain the effective delivery of systems and processes to ensure the efficient management of the team, using analysis of data to inform service delivery.

Promote a culture of professional curiosity embracing research within your area of responsibility, encouraging the exploration of different cultures, concepts and ideas

Chair initial risk management meetings.
