The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Children with Disabilities Service for this role. Come and join us on our Restorative Journey of Improvement to gain the best for children and families in Herefordshire.

The Managing Practitioner within the Children with Disabilities Team (CWD) is a development role, you will be responsible for the supervision of Family Support Workers and Personal Advisors who work within the team alongside supporting Newly Qualified Social Workers and students. You will contribute to the development of Disability awareness and associated services both within Children’s Services and with partner agencies.

You will hold a protected case load and work with children and families who have children with complex additional needs. You will be able to work across agencies and be confident in pulling together the team around the child, supporting families to navigate the systems of health, social care and education.

You will be confident in supporting children and young people who need support and protection, including children in care and care leavers.

You will be fully qualified (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent), with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in statutory social care. With honed skills in assessment, report writing, and managing a complex caseload, you will be dedicated to improving the lives of children and families within Herefordshire.
