About us
We are the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Information Advice and Support Service. We offer a range of support on all SEN matters to children and young people with additional needs and their parents/carers.
Role
The successful applicant will be providing information, advice and support on all SEND matters including Health and social care. You will be expected to manage a caseload and develop links with a range of stakeholders, reporting directly to the SENDIASS Operational Manager.
This post is flexible over 3 days per week. Working pattern can negotiated upon offer.
Key requirements
A professional with proven experience of working with families of children and/or young people with additional needs. The ability to communicate effectively and sympathetically to a wide range of people. Knowledge of SEND law and the SEND code of practice would be advantageous as will local policies and procedures regarding SEND. Training and support will be provided to the right candidate.
Skills/experience
Applicants must have proven report writing and recording experience, as well as experience of working with parent/carers of young people and/or children with SEND. A proactive approach is vital to this role, as well as innovative and excellent networking skills. Willingness and ability to travel across the county, sometimes at short notice is required and flexibility to work outside of normal office hours if required.
