In this Senior HR/OD Advisor role, you’ll act as a trusted senior HR advisor to senior managers across all services in the Council; helping them to improve staff performance and to embed our values. You’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of a number of people related projects across the Council. On a day-to-day basis, this will see you offering expert guidance on matters related to workforce development, recruitment, retention, employee engagement and wellbeing. You’ll also advise on a full range of employee relations issues. You’ll deliver OD interventions too - providing training, facilitating focus groups, running 1:1 coaching and driving people related change and transformation.
From collaborating with trade union representatives to supporting managers and staff internally, your persuasion and influencing skills are going to be put to excellent use. You will have experience of and understand of local government services but other experience in similar fields will certainly be considered. We’re looking for someone CIPD qualified with significant experience advising managers on complex employee relations matters, and a sound understanding of employment law and the statutory local government service environment. You should also be familiar with delivering OD initiatives, assisting services to transform and drive performance through people.
