The role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Commissioning Manager to join our Ageing Well team. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in contributing to the operational delivery of Service objectives at each stage of the commissioning cycle. This will include ensuring effective commissioned services, robust contract and performance management, quality services for residents, effective partnerships and market management.

Commissioning Manager – Ageing Well  

This exciting role will lead commissioning strategies and plans across services for older people. The post holder will build strong strategic relationships with our residential and nursing homes market, ensuring sufficiency of placements and developing models of care and delivery to ensure sustainability. The post holder will also lead the development of an extra care commissioning strategy for Herefordshire and explore opportunities for joint commissioning, for adults over 65, through joint contracting, pooled funding and section 75 agreements where possible.

What will you be doing?

As a Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for commissioning high quality, best value services that meet the needs of some of our most vulnerable residents. This will include managing the delivery of a range of commissioning strategies and plans and in partnership with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will work closely with senior leadership team across the Service, corporate colleagues and key stakeholders, including people who use our services and their Carers, to deliver agreed commissioning outcomes.

About You

As a Commissioning Manager you will be:

  • Experienced in managing and leading social care, public health or early intervention and prevention commissioning strategies
  • Experienced in implementing all stages of the commissioning cycle, with reference to needs analysis, planning, designing, implementing and reviewing service change.
