The Role

We are seeking a Commissioning Officer to join our All Age Commissioning function, working within Living Well. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in contributing to the operational delivery of service objectives at each stage of the commissioning cycle, supported by the Commissioning Manager. This will include ensuring effective commissioned services, robust contract and performance management, quality services for residents, and effective partnerships and market management.

This exciting role will work within a team, under direction of the Commissioning Manager,  to develop and transform services for working age adults. This will involve building strong relationships with our community activity and supported living market, ensuring sufficiency of placements and developing models of care to ensure sustainability. The post holder will also work with the Commissioning Manager to develop solutions for individuals with complex care needs and further develop the replacement care offer in Herefordshire, to include the exploration of opportunities for joint commissioning.

What will you be doing?

As a Commissioning Officer, you will work as part of a team directed by the Commissioning Manager to commission high quality, best value services that meet the needs of some of our most vulnerable residents. This will include supporting with the delivery of a range of commissioning strategies and plans in partnership with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

You will work closely with colleagues across the service, corporate colleagues and key stakeholders, including people who use our services and their Carers, to deliver agreed commissioning outcomes.

About You

As a Commissioning Officer you will be:

  • You’ll be passionate about improving the lives of working age adults with Care Act eligible needs and committed to delivering high-quality services.
  • Confident in implementing all stages of the commissioning cycle, with reference to needs analysis, planning, designing, implementing and reviewing service change.
  • Have experience of commissioning or service delivery for vulnerable groups.
