We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Personal Assistant with excellent minute-taking and diary management skills to provide secretarial and logistical support to both the Dean and the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
About the role
This is a dynamic role focused on high-level administrative coordination to enable the Dean and COO to fulfil their responsibilities. This includes diary management, correspondence, meeting preparation and servicing, and travel arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Dean's diary (meetings, duties, and travel), act as a primary contact, and assist with official correspondence and drafting of papers/reports.
- Provide administrative assistance to the COO for meetings, travel arrangements, and expense claims.
- Provide logistical and secretarial support as required for various cathedral committees and working groups
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Has proven experience in meeting servicing and administration, including accurate and confidential minute taking.
- Has excellent organisational and diary management skills.
- Will commit to safeguarding compliance (satisfactory Basic DBS check required).
The ideal candidate:
- Has a minimum of 2 years’ administrative/secretarial experience
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Has experience within a complex organisational or ecclesiastical setting
Appointment of the successful candidate is subject to the receipt of two satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK and will also require a satisfactory basic DBS check.
This is a temporary full-time post of 3-4 months at 35 hours per week, generally Monday to Friday 09.00 – 17.00 with occasional out of hours work in evenings or at weekends. Overtime is not payable but time off in lieu will be granted.
