The Role

Are you an experienced social worker with a genuine passion for safeguarding children and supporting families at the earliest opportunity? Do you enjoy providing practical guidance, advice, and emotional support to help families and carers ensure children’s safety and wellbeing?

We are seeking a MASH Social Worker in Herefordshire to work as part of a multi-agency team, helping to protect children and young people who may be at risk of harm. In this role, you will carry out initial assessments, offer guidance to families, and collaborate with partner agencies to identify needs and risks. You will provide clear, practical support to ensure children are safe, their welfare is promoted, and families receive timely interventions.

You will play a key role in building positive relationships with children, families, and carers, supporting early intervention, and ensuring that every child in Herefordshire has the opportunity to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. About You

We are looking for Social Workers who are:

  • Experienced social worker with a proven track record of supporting foster carers, special guardians, and children in care.
  • Committed to improving the lives of children and young people, prioritising their safety, wellbeing, and potential.
  • Skilled at building positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues, carers, families, and key stakeholders.
  • Provides guidance, training, and practical support to foster carers, enabling children to thrive in stable, nurturing environments.
  • Dedicated to promoting resilience, emotional wellbeing, and positive outcomes for children in care.
  • Confident in managing complex cases and making informed, child-focused decisions.
  • Enthusiastic about contributing to a supportive, professional team environment and committed to ongoing professional development.
  • Registered with Social Work England and hold a recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW).

  • Market rate supplement: £5,000 per annum
