The Role

A vacancy has arisen within the Special Education Needs (SEN) Team for an Assistant Education Health and Care Plan (EHC) Officer on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2028. This is an opportunity to join a supportive team who are committed to ensuring that quality services and support are provided to children and young people with SEN.
The post holder in this desk-based position, will provide information and advice to parents and young people with SEN along with schools and other professionals regarding the statutory assessment process. There is a requirement to work closely with a range of service providers including colleagues in health, social care and education.
Responsibilities include coordinating the statutory assessment process, ensuring that draft, amended and finalised EHC Plans are issued within statutory timescales, organising and providing administration for decision making panels, processing invoices and distributing and responding to correspondence.
The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills, proven administrative skills, attention to detail and will be focussed upon supporting the team to secure the best outcomes for the children and young people of Herefordshire with SEN.
