The Role

Our Children in Care service is made up of three teams. Each Team comprises of a Team Manager, Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Family Support Workers.
Working within the Children in Care Service you will thrive bringing your knowledge and experience to these fast-paced teams. Our children are both in and out of county.
You will work alongside Social Workers on visits to children and families, compiling family case summaries and chronologies and updating information to the records system.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside families in support of reunifying children with their families, parenting support and advice, and engaging children and young people in understanding their life story.
You will be Level 4 (or above) qualified in a health, education, or social care field with a with a minimum of 12 months experience of lone working with vulnerable families. Confident in working in complex environments and a flexible approach to a demanding role, you will be dedicated to improving the lives of children and families within Herefordshire.

- Skilled in analysis, planning, and decision-making to ensure each child’s needs, strengths, and circumstances are clearly understood and effectively met
- Committed to working collaboratively, inclusively, and creatively with children, families, carers, and partner agencies to promote safety, stability, and positive outcomes
- Resilient, reflective, and confident in managing complex and sensitive situations, making sound professional judgments in the best interests of the child
- Able to thrive in a supportive, fast-paced team environment, contributing to a culture of learning, compassion, and continuous improvement in outcomes for children in care
