Closing date: 7th May 2026

A great opportunity has arisen for a Web Support Officer to join our team looking after the operational management and support of the websites for Wye Valley NHS Trust and Herefordshire Council, plus a number of other Hoople customers.

We know that people can be put off applying for a job if they think they can’t tick every box. We realise the ‘perfect candidate’ doesn’t exist. So, if you can do most of what we are asking for, please apply, you could be a great fit for the role!

Hoople’s Digital Team is a busy, vibrant and innovative service responsible for delivering key enabling and transformational services for the wider organisation, Herefordshire Council and external partners.

The Role:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced person to join our Digital Team to help deliver great public services that are not only highly effective but also easily accessible. We have championed the digitisation of services to ensure we are giving our residents the greatest possible access to council services.

As a Web Support Officer, you will be working in an agile environment, providing general support on multiple websites, updating content, updating site functions and applying security patches.

We utilise a mixture of low-code platforms and fully developed systems to provide the best solution for our users. This includes the use of Umbraco CMS, Granicus GovService (Firmstep) and Microsoft 365 low-code platforms, whilst making the most of Microsoft’s .NET, SQL, and Azure development platforms in order to build solutions and integrate with back-office systems.

You will be highly motivated and able to work and prioritise workloads independently whilst working in multi-disciplined project teams with colleagues and wider organisation to create high quality solutions that make a real difference to our users.

You will be able to confidently engage with colleagues and customers in providing subject matter expertise supporting services within agreed Service Level Agreements.

You will work across a range of digital projects and service optimisation improvements. You will work within standards working collaboratively with the digital team and stakeholders, take a lead on work packages when required, and ensure high quality content, code and support are delivered.  You will investigate continual improvement opportunities and learn new development technologies to best fit the solution.

Key skills and experience for the successful candidate are:

  • Experience building and maintaining websites, particularly using Umbraco CMS
  • An excellent understanding of HTML, Site development, documentation, best practices and coding
  • Experience of SQL

You will thrive using agile methods and enjoy working openly, collaboratively and as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on one or more projects at a time

What we offer:
Hoople offer 26 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays rising to 31 days after 5 years’ service, and an Aviva salary sacrifice pension scheme.  We also provide a flexible benefits scheme which provides a range of benefits and discounts across retailers, the option to buy or sell annual leave, cycle to work scheme and healthcare plans.

We welcome applicants whatever their personal characteristics or social identity.  All requests for flexible working arrangements and reasonable adjustments will be considered.
