Herefordshire Council have an exciting opportunity for two experienced NEC Engineering and Construction Clerk of Works.

The roles are within the Highways and Traffic Team, joining the team of dedicated, supportive, professional staff with a wealth of experience, knowledge and care in delivering the service.

All this within the beautiful, historic county of Herefordshire located in the heart of the Marches on the Welsh Boarder, with a wealth of unspoilt countryside, distinctive heritage, and lively and attractive market towns with Hereford City at its heart.  The rural and urban nature of the County ensures a varied, interesting and diverse working day, providing a fantastic opportunity to work with, a wide range of construction works. 

The Role

Clerk of Works – Highways and Traffic:

The successful candidates will be involved in a range of construction activities, ranging from developer led S278/S38 works through to Herefordshire Council capital projects such as Public Realm improvements, highway maintenance construction schemes including paving, drainage, safety schemes, land slips, PRoW works and other construction schemes delivered by the council. The role will undertake site based quality inspections validating compliance with the approved drawings/specification, best practice and programme. The person will be responsible for ensuring all works and materials used meet the specification and testing requirements.
