This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small but busy
licensing team. We are seeking an
individual to carry out inspections at premises throughout Herefordshire and ensuring
compliance of all premises subject to the Animal Welfare (Licensing of
Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018, the Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976,
Zoo licensing Act 1981 and Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act 1960.
It would be Ideal (but not essential) if you are already
qualified as an Animal Licensing Inspector with a Level 3 Certificate (or
equivalent) granted by a body recognised and regulated by the Office of
Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) or have qualifications
and/or experience in animal welfare management, however full training will be
provided.
Previous experience in a regulatory/enforcement role would be
advantageous but not essential. The
ability to effectively communicate complex matters both verbally and in writing
are very much essential skills, as is proficiency in using IT. These are skills that you will need to
demonstrate your competency at interview stage.
If you have an interest in animal welfare regulation, administration
and enforcement, enjoy dealing with the public and like getting things done,
then this could be the job for you. You
will need to be competent in the use of Information Technology systems, have
great communication and organisational skills, have excellent attention to
detail and be dependable to work with confidential and sensitive information.
