About The Role

Job Title: Governance Support Co-Ordinator
Contract: Fixed Term - One Year - Term Time Only
Location: Hereford
Hours: 15 hours per week
Salary: HC6 £27,269 to £31,067 (pro rata £9,480 to £10,800 per annum)

We are seeking an outstanding Governance Support Co-ordinator who will provide support and advice to the Governing Body. The main duties will be to attend all governor meetings, which mostly take place in the evenings and to provide effective administrative support. Training will be available for the successful candidate. Flexibility about how the hours are worked and attending meetings both face to face and virtually is essential.

 The ideal candidate will have Clerking or School Governor experience, although other applicants with relative administrative experience and transferable skills will be considered as we will support you in gaining a Clerking Accreditation

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to continue or commence your career in school and academy governance.

As well as attending an allocated number of governing and trust board meetings and taking detailed minutes, you will provide support, advice and guidance on governance law and procedure to assist governors, trustees and school leaders in their leadership and management role.

Whilst the role offers flexibility within the allocated hours, there will be a need to work some evenings convenient to the governing body.

You should have an understanding and knowledge of the role of governors and trustees within the management structure of a school or academy. Although experience in governance and academy law and procedure would be desirable, it is not essential as training will be provided.

The post holder should have the ability to present information clearly and assertively, to work efficiently to deadlines and be able to demonstrate outstanding planning and organisational skills as well as being competent in the use of the Microsoft Windows package. (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams).
